About Us |

The Hampshire County Development Authority (HCDA) was created in 1974 with a mission to improve the quality of life for residents of Hampshire County, West Virginia through a thriving and responsible business community.
Specifically the HCDA seeks to:
- Improve the quality of Hampshire County employment options
- Encourage responsible business and industry
- Encourage local manufacturing businesses to boost the local economy
- Provide support services to existing businesses
- Assist in expansion of existing businesses
- Promote new local businesses
- Attract external businesses & support their relocation/expansion to Hampshire
- Develop infrastructure to sustain existing and future businesses, as well as the residential community
- Gather and distribute the knowledge and assets of local, state, and federal agencies; other organizations; and individuals to stimulate prosperous business.

Board of Directors
|
The HCDA is composed of between twelve and twenty-one persons appointed by the Hampshire County Commission. Members of the Authority board must include representatives from the County Commission, City of Romney, and the City of Capon Bridge. The remainder, representing business, industry, and labor, are appointed at large by the County Commission. All members serve a three -year term and are eligible, at the discretion of the County Commission, for re-appointment.
All members of the HCDA are resident citizens of Hampshire County. |

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee's new officers were sworn in by Judge Donald H. Cookman of the Circuit Court on July 18, 2006.
